Racism, according to Oxford English Dictionary is:
- the belief that there are characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to each race.
- Discrimination against or antagonism towards other races.
Now the million (billion?) dollar question.
Are you racist?
Ooo. Now here come all the do-gooders, people who take the moral high ground and/or politicians (usually unknown, who wants to make a quick publicity boost).
The fact is... ALL of you are racist. Deny it all you like. You know deep (deep?) down that you do notice other people belonging to their respective races. It doesn't end there, I bet you do some presumptuous judging as well.
I know I do.
Now tell me, what do you see.
A cheerful african?
A freaky new species?See, you do notice!
Stereotypes emerge from racism as well. Like, Asians can't drive (pshh..not true). Irish are alcoholics. Middle Easterners hate Americans. Asians know martial arts. Jewish people are cheap. Germans are Nazis or fascists. Not nice right? (well some are actually quite positive e.g Asians have high IQ)

An example of extremist racists are the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
No, they're not very nice people. Google them to read about what they do.
So, anyway, here is Malaysia... our dear PM is coining the ' 1 Malaysia : People first, Performance Now.' phrase. I'm sure we have our differences (not only between races, but individuals as well. Look as PAS vs UMNO). That won't go away. Apparently the government wants us to show unity. How are we going to achieve that?
For one, I think tolerance is not the solution. It should be understanding. Even I, am unhappy over the preferential treatment to a specific race over here (and I'm not supposed to question it). However, the 'fact' that they are the natives of this land, they should get preferential treatment. gives me a tiny bit of solace (but then, there's a debate on whether this race are really the 'original' natives, which I also shouldn't question).
I'm not suggesting that you go kissing/hugging around (although attractive members of the opposite can please go ahead); and not exactly accepting as well. One must always battle for the better right?
Understanding, not tolerance is the way to go.
What do you think?
Finally you admit you're a racist (the more mellow type)? Leave a Comment!
If you're the violent type; leave a comment, then go shoot yourself.

AHA! Finally someone agrees with me that everyone is, in one way or another, inherently racist. I'm just against extreme racism.
Tolerance is the wrong word to use I suppose. To tolerate is to bear with something even though it annoys the hell out of you. Well, we'll just have to see if the whole 1Malaysia concept takes off. Personally, I'm not a fan of our PM, and I don't believe 1Malaysia can be achieved without dismantling the race quota thing.
